RE: NEWS: New Light-Based Computer Runs At Quantum Speeds

Hi all,

No offence, but it doesn't quite sound that great. I think that what it
is doing in analogous to what a "vector processors"/"array processor"
does. Those types of processors were popular in supercomputers and a
very limited style of array processing is used in the SSE and MMX
extensions to the Intel x86 chipset.

I understand quantum computation to be significantly different from
this.
