### Yes, you can - offer detailed week-by-week (or even daily) updates for
qualifying donors. Let people feel they are close to the making of history
(or at least an honest attempt).

Currently, being a fellow, I have a wonderful research job, and about 20% of
the income of the colleagues from my residency (after only a few months the
glaring difference is obvious). However, in less than two years I will join
other people with grown-up jobs (hopefully retaining a lot of the fun I have
now), and at that time I will quite seriously think about contributing my 5%
to the welfare of mankind. Since building the AGI is for me light-years
ahead of helping starving children in a piecemeal way, I could become a
contributor.

However, as I said, I (and probably other likely donors) would need to have
a tangible feeling of participation, a feeling that the money does achieve a
worthy goal. Of course, lapel buttons and other schwag would be nice, too.
