Rational, progress seeking people (like Drexler) should
be more Machiavellian. Why to sponsor "Newcombs", who
keep saying that "It's impossible to fly!", by even
talking with them? To be perfectly honest, I guess. But
there is no real use in doing so. The majority, or at
least a significant minority, will NOT grasp that a new
technology (flying, nano, AI ...) will come (if there
is no prohibiting law, of course), until it is here.
Have it your way, Mr. Smalley!
But then again - the fire against Penrose was fruitful,
I think.
