I think taking the best parts of the bible and replacing its errors (deviations from apparent teachings of Jesus) with improvements, is more likely to yield the wishes of god, and thus a happier afterlife: the net is some sort of buddhist hybrid. Really, a finite being such as a person cannot achieve infinite happiness even in heaven. So the whole effort is triumphed by real world pragmatism, the latter with a greater EV.
