Isn't that what makes someone an "expert"? - having enough concentration to
maintain their judgement in a whirlwind of opposing opinion and more popular
conjecture... Maybe that's not enough. That definition could be applied
to zealots and marketers. Whenever you see experts on TV, they seem to
have that title only because they have more facts available for any given
topic than "normal" people care to remember. [eg: Bob Jenkins, expert in
obscure bugs currently devouring the national tomato crop]
