I've met Todd Huffman (the guy with the magnetic implant). He actually
intended his implant to help him experiment with sensing new
modalities. It was the body artist, Steve Haworth, who was doing
magnets as gimmicks before.
Todd is an interesting guy, he gave a talk at LA Futurists. He worked
at Alcor as a researcher for a while, and has other transhuman
interests.
