"Subjective pain" is only as important as it is perceived to be.

The "morality" of terminating a simulation of sentient beings, as with
any and all decisions, rests entirely in the values of the agent, not
in the object.

This is in no way a denial of the fact of human moral outrage with
regard to cruelty (as generally perceived by humans.)
