Some definitions are in order:
Slave: your computer.
Upload: a computer that everyone believes is you.
Ethical, desirable, good: that which increases your utility according to a function inherited from your parents.
Human utility/ethics demands altruism toward other humans, and by implication, toward machines that resemble humans. Machines can reproduce and evolve faster than humans. The outcome should be obvious.
What's not so clear is whether the outcome is good or bad. It is like asking whether you benefit from a teleportation device that makes a copy of you at your desired destination and slowly crushes the original to death. It depends on how you define "you".
