What might be more interesting to consider is the increase in supercomputer
power. From around 12 teraflops last year to 1000 in 2005 (Blue Gene). A year
after that teraflop CPUs may be available from the Sony/IBM/Toshiba
collaboration recently announced. Those CPUs would be over 30 times more
powerful than the Blue Gene CPUs.

The last part stinks of hype since that CPU would be apparently be used
in some next-generation Playstation, and game makers are well known to
overhype their performance. But it'll sure be fun if it's true...
